ILEN Associates Ltd (Ilen) is a European management consultancy undertaking national and international contract and project work through a co-operative association, which is able to draw upon the skills and experience of a diverse range of professionals working across a number of sectors. Ilen evaluates EU funded initiatives, which has included the transnational Leonardo da Vinci pilot projects SUNIVOT (embedding numeracy into vocational qualifications) led by Wakefield College in the UK, and EUROPASS and EUROPATHWAYS linking international mobility to regional innovation led by the Ministry for Education in the Balearic Isles, as well as the EQUAL Black Country social enterprise initiative LEAD (theme D) and the ESF Article 6 Fair Play for Older Workers’ project and currently the ESF transnational Digital Activist Inclusion Network (DAIN) in the East Midlands .
Ilen has drawn down over £55million in grant aid from EU / UK funding streams in the last 28 years for Local Authorities, FE colleges, TECs, LSCs, Connexions, schools, private companies and community and voluntary sector organisations. For example: Ilen drew down over €2,000,000 in 2005 through ESF Article 6 for a Yorkshire and Humber regional diversity and equality partnership with partners in Hungary, Netherlands, Spain and Greece to investigate and develop strategies for the retention of older workers in the labour force. In 2010 €1,000,000 euros for the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Migration partnership working with partners from Spain, Greece, Hungary, Italy and Bulgaria addressing Roma integration.
Access to UK funds has included SRB, Lottery, Henry Smith, Lloyds TSB Foundation, Comic Relief, NRF, Community Foundation, and other small private foundations.
